Designed by the great Isambard Kingdon Brunel in 1838, the Maidenhead Bridge is an intriguing engineering marvel that created quite the buzz during its time. Built entirely of brick, and comprising of two shallow spans over the River Thames, the bridge are the widest and flattest in the world. It is testimony to the genius of Brunel that such a bridge with such flat arches was not only built but continues to carry the Great Western Railway main line from Paddington Station to this day.
Ascot Baptist Church was built in 1878 under the auspices of W. J. Bishop. Soon after it's establishment, the church became an important and integral part of the community. Various activities like quiz nights, barbecues, skittles, picnics and other events are organized to further unity and feeling of brotherhood among the community.
