Wyman wies erst ab, fand die Idee zu unprofessionell, änderte seine Meinung aber dann doch. Der Legende nach soll er in einer Geisterséance seinen verstorbenen Bruder um Rat gefragt haben. Es enstand dieses Meisterwerk aus Eichenpanelen, gekachelten Treppen, gusseiserenen Geländern, offenen Aufzügen und einem Glasdach, durch das alles hell ist.
