Towering redwoods, sycamores, maples, and oaks that are hundreds if not thousands of years old, long winding trails, scenic views of the Big Sur river, and a lot more await at the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. Buzzards Roost Viewpoint is a spectacular panoramic point in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. A scenic loop trail traverses about 1.8 miles (2.8 kilometers) to reach the point. The trail, which is a delightful treat in itself, meanders through mature redwood growths and highland pine forests, offering beautiful views of the park along the way. Considered a moderately challenging hike, the trail ends with rewarding views at Buzzards Roost. It is advised to carry plenty of water during the hike.
