Galleria Umberto I is the second gallery in Naples and the busiest one. It was built during the urban renewal following a cholera epidemic and the Legge Speciale of 1885. The project was done by engineer Emanuele Rocco, and then modified by Ernest Di Mauro and Antonio Curri. In 1890, the Salone Margherita (destined to become the famous singing café) and the Galleria were inaugurated. The architecture joins the new Renaissance facade with beautiful glasses and iron roofing.

Ascione was established in 1855 as a company producing finished goods from raw coral. Nowadays, they also create precious boxes, vases and picture frames combining coral, mother of pearl, tortoise shell and ivory. Jewels and objet d'art are all designed and manufactured in the 150-year-old lab located in Torre del Greco, the hometown of coral. The Naples branch also houses an interesting museum dedicated to the history of coral. Besides describing fishing and crafting techniques, the museum displays some of the most significant pieces of the house collection.
Talarico is one of the oldest craft companies of Naples.
