The cafe Hazzebas was long a favorite of the Scheveningen promenade before it closed for renovations in 2005. However, after a long facelift, it is now back and more popular than ever. It features a wide variety of beer and wine as well as scrumptious vittles. These center on bar favorites like pizza and fries, but some of the other dishes are worth trying, such as the steaks and seafood options like salmon or shrimp scampi. The brand new bar is well-stocked and the place also sports dartboards and gaming tables.

Odessa

Odessa is one of the favorite student haunts in Leiden. The food is cheap and greasy, the drinks are strong and the music is heavy and goes all night long. There are specials everyday, including drink specials that bring the students in droves from the university, and live music and DJs. There is usually a cover on weekend evenings, and the kitchen remains open till ;ate in the night.

Rotown is a combination of café, Mexican restaurant, kiosk and photo gallery and is also well-known for its musical shows. This is a place full of character and that is something very much appreciated by its patrons. Maybe that's why it has become so famous in so short a time.

Dizzy

This lively little café invites jazz-lovers to join them for over 100 free concerts each year.
