In order to educate the public about the oil company and its significance in the state of California, the West Kern OiL Museum was established. It is mainly managed by volunteers who strive to collect information and material regarding the oil in the area. The museum has a collection of articles, photographs, artifacts and other memorabilia telling the tales of the people in the business and families affected by the industry.
To honor some great artists, the Todd Madigan Art Gallery was established and is a part of the California State University Arts Department. The gallery showcases works of Weismann Collection and renowned artists like Ed Ruscha, Chris Burden, Martine Syms and Tala Madani and many more. The gallery also encourages students in the field of art by organizing an annual program called the Student Thesis where a well-known artist will work with the students to create an exhibition.
