The Historic Fort at Taft is one of the largest buildings constructed in 1940 and was used as government offices. The site is fortified with 4.3 meter (14 foot) walls with a massive wooden gate at the entrance. In the center of the site is the main building and small offices all around. There is a massive courtyard besides the main building and is a replica of Sacramento's Sutter's Fort. The entire location can be used for private events or public events like weddings, parties, product launches, etc. Rentals and timings can be viewed on website.

It is mainly managed by volunteers who strive to collect information and material regarding the oil in the area.
