Landévennec Abbey is a magnificent Benedictine monastery situated in the very heart of the commune of Landévennec in France. The current monastery was built on the site of a medieval monastery dating back to 8th Century, which eventually fell out of use after it became decrepit. The highlights of this place are the medieval gardens - which are replete with medicinal herbs - and the Abbey museum. Do give this place a visit if you happen to be in Landévennec.
