Bur Dubai

Bur Dubai is a historic neighborhood in the city as well as the financial hub. It is also called Dubai City and is a wonderful blend of modern and old architectural structures. It is dotted with several restaurants, malls, commercial offices, residential complexes, mosques and shops. Though most of the major souks are in Deira, it has many shopping streets that are not in alleys. The most prominent is the Textile Souk (Bur Dubai Souk). This is the best place in town to get fabrics from all over the world at negotiable prices. Some of the interesting sites are the Dubai Museum, Grand Mosque, Al Bastakiya, Al Shindagha and The Diwan.
