Best Parks in Dubbo

, 1 Options Found

Not only is Goobang National Park the largest remaining woodland forest in its area, but it is also a historically significant timber resource. Named a national park in 1995, Goobang traditionally belonged to the Wiradjuri people, who preferred the flatlands of the Herveys and Curumbenya Ranges. Ancient campsites and relics can be found at the park today, and along with them survive mythologies about the significance of the region. Follow the Wanda Wandong Woodland trail if you'd like to learn more about the indigenous peoples who once occupied this land. For a sportier visit, try the Burrabadine Peak Walking Track, a short but moderate hike around the park.
