Mount Imlay National Park
"Black Olive Berry"
An important feature of the New South Wales landscape, Mount Imlay National Park is named after the Imlay brothers, the historic early settlers of the area. While the park is primarily comprised of eucalyptus forest, it also houses a patch of rainforest packed with Black Olive Berry trees. Of its many impressive native species, Mount Imlay National Park is best known for its wombats and superb lyrebirds, Australian songbirds with wonderfully elaborate tail feathers. Beyond wildlife watching, visitors will enjoy scenic coastal views, beautiful wildflowers, and unforgettable walking trails. The park's wildflowers are particularly spectacular in the spring while the region's cooler fall temperatures make for a great time to plan a more strenuous hike.
