Blackdown Tableland National Park

The deep gorges and flowing waterfalls of Blackdown Tableland National Park historically belonged to the Ghungalu people, an aboriginal group indigenous to Central Queensland. Remnants of this ancient culture can be discovered in the form of rock art still scattered around the area. The easy-grade, wheelchair-accessible Yaddamen Dhina trail follows a gentle slope through the park, offering a comfortable way to enjoy the beauty of the landscape. Moderate hikes include the Mook Mook, Goon Goon Dhina, and Gudda Gumoo lookout trails. For tourists who are in the mood for a challenge through a scenic route, the two hour Gudda Gumoo gorge trail, which includes a staircase of 240 steps leading up to one of the site's waterfalls is a great option. Overnights at Blackdown Tableland National Park are possible at the Munall campground though fees apply.
