"Invincible Fortress"

Covering an area of around 250,00 square meters (269097.76 square feet), Castello di Lombardia is counted as one of the biggest structures in the southern region of Italy. Found in the town of Enna, it was built to guard the city's topmost point. Originally constructed by the early Saracens settlers, it was extended and fortified by the Normans. The castle walls remain in their entirety but out of the 20 towers, only a mere six still survive. Torre Pisano is the tallest mast of all, which can be climbed from the beautiful patio of Cortile dei Cavalieri.
