Home to some of the most mesmerizing masterpieces of the Flemish Baroque school of art, Rubenshuis is one of the best repositories of fine art in the city. It was also the home of one of the most influential artists of his time, Peter Paul Rubens, who continues to assert artistic influence in Brussels even after four centuries of his existence. His collection of artwork is housed within Rubenshuis, a grand Italian-style villa which he designed himself. Equal parts home and art studio, Rubenshuis was where some of his most renowned artworks were birthed, including Adam and Eve and The Annunciation. The collection at the museum also includes myriad artworks produced by his protege, Anthony van Dyck, and four of Ruben's self-portraits.

This museum was built by Henriëtte Mayer van den Bergh in honor of her son, Fritz, a fervent art collector who lived in Antwerp during the second half of the 19th century. The building was constructed in 16th-century style, with late-Gothic and Renaissance ornamentation on the facade, reminiscent of Antwerp's Golden Age. Inside, the collection includes paintings from the 13th to 18th centuries, including 'Mad Meg' by Pieter Brueghel the Elder. There are also sculptures dating back to the 12th century, silverware, bronze figures, and tapestries. The museum can be visited with a guide, and from time to time temporary exhibitions are organized.

In the early years of the 20th Century, Antwerp's home fixtures were mostly played at the Broodstraat stadium. However, in the later years, the stadium could not accommodate the increasing number of fans that poured in to watch their home team play. Bosuilstadion was then built as a sprawling facility in Deurne, a suburb of Antwerp. It was established in the year 1923 and ever since, continues to serve as the home turf of Royal Antwerp FC. In the year 1964, the stadium played host to the second phase of the European Cup Winners' Cup Final. The semifinal tie between West Germany and Belgium was also played here in the year 1972.
