Sint-Andrieskerk, or St. Andrew's Church, is one of Antwerp's lesser known historical monuments, but is nonetheless an architectural and artistic jewel. The church was originally constructed in the 16th Century, and boasts an architectural design that blends together Gothic and Baroque styles. Inside its revered walls you will encounter rare and magnificent art works, most notable of which is the 18th-century high alter, the elegant pulpit and a regal alabaster monument of the enigmatic Mary, Queen of Scots. Richly inlaid with artworks that span the centuries, Sint-Andrieskerk is truly a haven for all those who delight in fine art. Stop by to say a silent prayer, or to simply bask in the glorious beauty of this wondrous church. Inside you will also find a small museum that chronicles the history of the church and the parish it serves. Sint-Andrieskerk is closed to visitors during religious services. Call ahead to book a group tour of the church.
El parque de las esculturas fue en principio un evento puntual y se convirtió en una exposición permanente de gran éxito.
