Visit the abandoned grounds of St. Mary’s College. Tucked inside the woods near Ellicott city, these ruins mark as one of the unique attractions in the city. Built in the 1860s, the Roman Catholic college is known to be a big campus with Italian Renaissance-style buildings and a chapel. Today, all that is left are the decaying ruins and haunting alter. Locally known as Ellicott City Hell House, visitors can hike and explore the eerie setting.
Maryland's goodwill ambassador to the world was modeled after the Baltimore clippers, the topsail schooners that helped America win the War of 1812. Since its launch in 1988, the 173-foot vessel has represented Maryland in 44 countries. The Pride has sailed more than 180,000 miles and played host to some 500,000 visitors. If you're lucky enough to be in Baltimore when the Pride is in port, take a tour of the vessel or stay on board overnight and sail with the crew.

As you drive down the I-95, one of the oddest attractions you'll spot is a giant 20 foot (6.1 meter) pineapple looming in the distance. Built entirely out of fiberglass, the pineapple was adopted as the logo for a local Baltimore graphics company, Victor Graphics, and originally installed in 1998. Driving from Baltimore to DC, this roadside attraction is easy to spot and offers a chance to spot a unique Baltimore landmark built by one of the largest privately owned local companies in the city.
