Rightly listed as a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site, Spitalgasse is a historic street in the Old City of Bern dating back to 1344. It is a popular tourist stopover and is frequently spotted with history buffs looking to explore the richness of the site. The street is lined with various archaeologically significant structures and monuments, among which the Church of the Holy Ghost, one of largest Swiss Reformed churches in Switzerland is the most prominent. There are also picturesque fountains built along the way like the Pfeiferbrunnen, based on Albrecht Durer woodcut of the Bagpiper.
