McSorley's es un hito de Cooper Union que abrió sus puertas en 1854 y es el bar más antiguo aun en funcionamiento en la ciudad (aunque no es el bar más antiguo de Manhattan, ese honor pertenece al Ear Inn del barrio Tribeca).
