The island nation of Aruba is home to some fascinating beaches and vistas. Aruba's widest oceanfront, the dramatic Eagle Beach is noted for its white, powdery sands and crystal clear waters. The beach is well-equipped with shaded areas, parking spaces, and some quaint huts to escape the blazing sun on bright days. Adventure seekers can choose from an array of water sports like waterskiing and sailing here. A few months out of the year year, you'll find white and red signposts alerting sightseers against harming turtle nests at Eagle Beach. In particular, the hawksbill, green, loggerhead, and leatherback species dominate the sea and sand. Head here for all-around outdoor entertainment and outstanding panoramic views.
Palm Beach is a 2-mile stretch of soft, pristine sand, hemmed on one side by the sparkling, turquoise waters of the Caribbean and on the other by Aruba's luxury, high-rise resorts. Located northwest of Oranjestad, the beach boasts calm waters, ideal for activities like swimming and snorkeling. You'll also find a number of beach bars, restaurants, piers, shops and water sport outfitters alongside the beach that together complete the picture of an island paradise. From relaxing walks along the water's edge at sunset, to thrilling water sports and enjoying a drink on beach with your toes in the sand, Palm Beach promises a myriad experiences. As the top choice for water sports, the beach can get fairly crowded during peak tourist season. Beach umbrellas and lounge chairs are available for rent.
The sky is the limit at picturesque Malmok Beach. Quieter than some of the larger beaches in Aruba, this pristine alcove is perfect for snorkeling with its crystal clear waters and teeming sea life. Calm currents and steady winds also provide great conditions for windsurfing. When you get a glimpse beneath the surface, you'll see that this intimate beach has more to offer than first meets the eye. Halfway submerged, with birds perched atop the exposed part, is a German freighter from WWII called the Antilla, drawing scuba divers to the site alongside snorkelers. Come on down and see for yourself.
Boca Catalina is a beautiful secluded beach that's a stark contrast to the many commercialized beaches of Aruba. This beach is favored by the locals and doesn't draw crowds of tourists because of its scant amenities, however, once you're here you will be loath to leave. The beautiful white sand beneath your feet is perfect for long walks or to just relax and sunbathe while the clear blue water is great for a refreshing swim. The marine life just off the shore is spectacular and numerous making this beach one of the best snorkeling destinations on the island. A visit to this peaceful and picturesque beach is a must when visiting Aruba.
