Altstadt is the historic center of the former municipality Rapperswil which is now Rapperswil-Jona. This old town is on the shores of the Lake Zurich and is a lovely place to explore for its many architectural gems and historical sites. These include Schloss Rapperswil, Kloster Rapperswil, Fischmarktplatz, Engelplatz, Rathaus, Pfarrkirche St. Johann, Stadtmuseum Rapperswil and Seedamm. This quaint area also has many restaurants and shops.
This is Zurich's red light district. It starts in District 5, but this part is less attractive due to heavy traffic. It's more attractive in District 4 on the other side of the railway tracks. Here you will find nice and trendy bars like Sansibar and Liquid as well as great restaurants like Exer. The fashion shops around here sell clothes for the working ladies, in addition to very trendy clubwear.
Situated by the Zurich Lake, Seefeld is a posh residential neighborhood that also offers plenty for tourists to explore. While in this neighborhood, you will get to see a mix of old buildings and sprawling new apartments. Seebad Utoquai and Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen offer access to the lake and is ideal for swimming. Visiting the Museum of Design and Mühle Tiefenbrunnen are highly recommended while in the neighborhood.
