Construida en 1958, la Torre de Tokio se eleva unos 332 metros sobre el nivel del suelo, unos 13 metros más que la Torre Eiffel. La torre está equipada con dos observatorios desde los que se puede contemplar una postal panorámica de Tokio y el Monte Fuji si las condiciones climáticas lo permiten. El Observatorio Principal se encuentra a unos 150 metros de altura y el Observatorio Especial a unos 250 metros. Uns 164 reflectores iluminan la torre de color naranja en invierno y blanco incandescente en verano. El valor de la entrada es de 350 yenes para los más chicos, 400 yenes para los estudiantes y 600 yenes para los adultos si desean subir hasta el Observatorio Especial.

There are 40 elevators within the tower but once specific elevator works at the speed of 600 meters (1968 feet) per minute and is a direct stop from the lobby to the main deck.
