Opened in 1991, this science and technology repository closed for a few years for a major re-haul. One of the city's highlights, this place is for everyone who has a curious mind, be it a toddler or a grandparent. Get to know how soap bubbles are formed at the Bubblearium, or get awestruck at the massive DNA-shaped winding Helix copper stairway that connects to all the four levels of the museum. This sensational staircase makes this museum look like from a sci-fi movie. Take a peek into the world of micro-organisms at The Yeast Cell or find out about senses at The Tunnel of Senses. Want to get an idea, head to The Idea Company or the House of Inventions and for a dose of physics, Circus Physics is absolutely a must. With over 16 exhibition zones, there is something for everyone that will blow your mind away.
Valbyparken is a beautiful park that is frequented by many for its tranquil respite. Several locals as well as tourists come here quite often for a stroll or to spend a few quality moments with their loved ones. The park also has a disc golf area which serves as a recreational space for many. Apart from that, the Valbyparken hosts a few concerts, live musicals, gigs and other local events in its premises.
Katedralskolan founded in 1805 is one of the oldest schools in Scandinavia, a historical region in northern Europe. This school was built by an ambitious Danish king Saint Canute who was later recognized as a patron saint by the Roman Catholic Church. Being a cathedral school, it trained priests and clergy men and women. Today, it is operational as an upper secondary school with more than thousand students attending different course programs.
Situated in Slotsholmen, the Danish War History Museum is home to some of the most impressive arms and weaponry collections in the world. The war museum was founded in 1926 in the building that served as an arsenal in the 16th Century and was expanded over the years. With more than 8000 modern and traditional weapons and armors along with models of warships, the museum houses some of the largest military collections in the world. A must-visit, the 300 cannons that date back to the 16th Century till modern times are not to be missed.
