The Basilika St. Mang is a big, Baroque church which is a part of the St. Mang's Abbey. While the abbey is no longer functional and is operated as a museum, the church is still in operation, attracting scores of visitors due to its palace like design.

The Linderhof Palace, nestled in the western corner of Ettal, is the smallest castle to have been constructed by King Ludwig II. The tour of the palace gives visitors a glimpse into the opulent life that King Ludwig II led. Just a half an hour walk from the Olympic Stadium of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the gorge is the starting point for several hikes and trails. Here, you will get a chance to witness the stunning waterfalls and rapids while following one of two paths—the Iron Bridge for the more adventurous tourists, and the walking trail following the water for nature-lovers seeking solitude. Hohe Schloss is perched atop a hill overlooking the town of Füssen. The impressive structure dates back to the 1200s and is considered to be among the best-preserved castles of Bavaria. Sporting a commanding, Gothic facade, the castle, was once the summer residence of the Prince Bishops of Augsburg. The place now houses a fantastic art collection, notable among which are the illusive paintings. Operated by the state government, Hohe Schloss is open for public viewing.

Perched atop a hill and the Swiss valley of Reutte, the Ehrenberg Castle of Austria is a popular attraction among tourists for its charming historical atmosphere and stunning woodland and city views. Museum Grünes Haus is nestled within 'The Green House', which receives its name due to its verdant hue. The stately 16th-century mansion is a work of art in itself, featuring a myriad of murals on the outside. The museum itself features a rich collection of religious folk art and paintings. Architectural elements are also highlighted, along with aspects of trade and economy.
