Palacio Iolani

Construido en 1882 por el último rey de Hawai'i, David Kalakaua, este palaciego edificio de tres pisos es una maravilla a explorar. Tras el derrocamiento de la hermana del rey, la reina Liliuokalani en 1893, el edificio sirvió como capitolio territorial y del estado hasta 1969. Museo Bernice Pauahi Bishop

Aloha Tower Marketplace

Since 1925 this tower has welcomed people of all nations to Honolulu. It's an imposing structure, nearly 200 feet (61 meters) tall, but its Spanish architecture and bronze embellishments make it much more attractive than the average skyscraper. The wonderful Aloha Tower Marketplace is open daily. Dole Plantation

All that is left of the vast Dole Plantation is a pictorial display of the pineapple's history and a country store that offers fresh pineapples and gifts. In the back, nearly two acres of rich, red earth have been turned into one of the world's largest mazes with a path 1.7 miles long. It is built from 11,400 tropical plants, including hibiscus and fragrant plumeria; in the center is a garden in the form of a golden pineapple. Try their fresh pineapple ice cream on your way out.

Polynesian Cultural Center

One of Hawaii's top visitor attractions, this tropical 42-acre (17 hectares) site showcases seven Polynesian regions: Fiji, Hawai'i, the Marquesas, New Zealand, Samoa, Tahiti and Tonga. Visitors enjoy frequent crafts demonstrations, musical performances, games and more. The famous Canoe Pageant re-enacts the myths and legends of Polynesia through song and dance, all atop floating canoes. A spectacular show is presented nightly, along with a lavish luau feast. There's also an IMAX theater.

Kick back and relax in an air-conditioned tour bus as a certified tour guide takes you around the notable points of Honolulu. There are nearly a dozen organized tours, a Waikiki Trolley day-pass and an option to design your own tour.
