The Las Vegas Motor Speedway has both a one and 1/2-mile speedway and short-track offerings of a 3/8-mile paved oval track, a dirt track and drag strip. This facility is considered to be one of the best in the industry with NASCAR events throughout the year, such as Sam's Town 300. Several driving schools are affiliated with the track, including Richard Petty Driving Experience, Dream Racing, and Exotics Racing
Home to the University of Nevada Las Vegas football team, Sam Boyd Stadium hosts a wide variety of entertainment and sporting events. These events include the Las Vegas Bowl in late December, Runnin' Rebels home games and various concerts. The stadium also occasionally is home to various international soccer and rugby events.
Las Vegas Festival Grounds is the base of the very popular Rock in Rio USA festival. This gigantic open-air ground is set on the north of the Las Vegas Strip. Planned and executed by the MGM Resorts International, it is near their Circus Circus Las Vegas hotel. This multifaceted venue is unlike other fairgrounds as it dons a festive look to host festivals, concerts, and sporting events. It has definitely added a different element on the entertaining Strip.
