Flat Rock Wildlife Sanctuary is an amazing natural area of Fitchburg. This extensive area features amazing species of birds, red fox and coyote along with Bobcat and black bear.
Wachusett Mountain is a ski area that stretches across both the towns, Princeton and Westminster. It has trails, ski lifts, a base lodge and other facilities like restaurant and private suites. The ski area also hosts fun events and races on a regular basis.
Nestled within the sprawling campus of Atlantic Union College, the Founder's Hall was built way back in 1883. It is a fine example of the Gothic-Queen Anne style of architectural design. In 1980, this historic structure featured in the National Register of Historic Places.
Set on the former army camp, Fort Devens Museum commemorates and celebrates the history of the state and its largest military base. The museum documents its role in through the 19th century, and pays tribute to the country's brave men. Through a collection of photographs, artifacts and original equipment, the museum walks you through some of the most iconic moments in combat history. Visitors can also catch a glimpse of military machinery that played a key role during the world war.
