Established in 1902, Mount Lowe Railway took visitors on a breathtaking ride atop Mount Lowe and Echo Mountain. The railroad catered primarily to tourists looking to explore the natural beauty of the region. Such was the site's popularity in is heydays, that it attracted numerous celebrities, and was also a part of a movie. Decline in tourist influence led to the service being stopped in 1938. Today, the Mount Lowe Preservation Society endeavors to preserve this bit of Mount Lowe's history.

An offbeat attraction, Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens opened in 2002. The maze made of travertine marble is inspired by the Chartres Cathedral. The garden influenced by Japanese landscaping details features a lily pond, fountains and flowers. Its the perfect place to reflect or meditate.
