W1-Zentrum für junge Kultur is a place for the expression and exploration of youth culture in Regensburg. The cultural center hosts a varied and eclectic program of cultural events ranging from readings, concerts and theater, to conferences, fundraisers, festivals and more. The studio and dance hall often double up as rehearsal space, while the Kulturcafe is the nerve center of W1 where a majority of its creative endeavors take shape. The Kulturcafe is a great place to socialize and network, or to simply enjoy a hot drink, delicious food and good company. Books, magazines and music are also available at the cafe, where concerts and other cultural events are hosted often. The center also encompasses a studio and an auditorium, both of which are available on hire for collaborative events. Workshops, classes and lectures round off the eclectic offer, ensuring that there is always a new and exciting cultural experience to be had at the W1-Zentrum für junge Kultur.
Framed by two striking towers which culminate into intricate spires, this neo-Romanesque church features a delightful exterior. Its interior, too, is a mesmerizing mosaic of frescoes and religious relics.
Schwandorfer Felsenkeller-Labyrinth situated in the heart of the city is a series of man-made underground stone cellars. These stone cellars were used for brewing and storing beer from as early as the 15th century. During the time, the temperature in the cellar was not allowed to exceed 10-degrees Celcius so as the ensure that the quality of the beer is not affected. Take one of the guided tours organized here and learn about interesting facts regarding the origin and purpose of these cellars. Apart from guided tours, Schwandorfer Felsenkeller-Labyrinth hosts a wide range of theatrical productions and museum events throughout the year in one of the 60 stone cellars in here. One of the cellars here has also been converted to a restaurant.
