This venue has over the years become a meeting ground for talented musicians seeking to explore different rhythms and explore the variations that can be created with jazz music. With a high seating capacity, this hall often tends to get crowded and finding seats is difficult so if you plan to catch up on one of the concerts happening there make sure you reach well in advance.

To the north of the center of Oslo, nestled in a seemingly remote area of the city, the Biermannsgården rests. This little bar is housed in a yellow colored, small, lovely house, and at first glance does not appear as a bar. But step inside and you will discover a vibrant and creative scene. The inside, as is obvious, resembles a house, and it does appear as if someone who lived there just had this great idea one day to turn their abode into a bar. The Biermannsgården is mostly used for concerts that are very environment-centric, and which aim at spreading awareness about the issues affecting the environment. There is beer available, and sufficient seating, so there perhaps won't be any space issues.

Although smaller than the regular concert venues, Buddy never falls short of providing an excellent experience both for the performers as well as the audience. This intimate live music club was opened in 2005 and since then has catered to the varied music sensibilities of the local crowd by hosting rock, country, folk, blues, metal and jazz performances by local and international artists/ bands. In the past, performers like Coverkill, Drømmere & Drankere, Tony Carey and several others have performed to a packed house at Buddy Scene. Make sure you keep an eye on its schedule so that you do not miss out on the concerts of your favorite artists or bands.

This chic restaurant in the west end of town started out small but is now widely recognized as one of the best places in town. Don't let the word "grill" confuse you, the atmosphere may be relaxed, but this is far from a fast-food restaurant. The menu is basically Norwegian, with some inspiration from French cuisine. The menu varies constantly, depending on what is in season and features a variety of game, poultry, meat and fish dishes. The restaurant attracts a young and trendy clientele who can enjoy a drink in the adjoining bar while waiting for one of the eight tables. Booking is not possible, but make sure you come early, otherwise you'll have no chance but to grab one of the highly-prized seats. Palace Grill is situated next to Palace Bar and Bollywood Dancing, both hip and trendy places frequented mainly by young people. An outdoor bar is open in the summer.
