Dan Majerle is a household name with many Arizonans; known for his time with the beloved hometown Phoenix Suns, he nearly brought the state a championship in the 1993 NBA Finals. And though Phoenix still has not won a championship, Thunder Dan has left his mark in both Phoenix and Flagstaff with his chain of American food restaurants. At this locale right off historic route 66, diners can choose from wings, salads, sandwiches, entrees and burgers as well as from a wide variety of beer and wine. Naturally, the restaurant also functions as a sports bar and some of the menu items even pay homage to Majerle's glory days of the early nineties, with names like Joe Kleine's Chicago Bleu sandwich and the Sir Charles Southwest Chicken Pasta, younger fans may wonder who these guys are.
Aloha Hawaiian Barbecue is Flagstaff's only restaurant where you can get creamy macaroni salad, Kalua pork and cupfuls of white rice all on the same plate. Its location is hidden away in a small mall complex off of Historic Route 66, but if you are on a budget and craving Hawaiian BBQ, this is the only spot that serves this type of food in the region. The ambience inside is simple, family-friendly and the service efficient.
