Monkey Beach

Maximize your Seoul nightlife experience with a trip to Monkey Beach. As the suns sets, things start to heat up at this happening nightclub. The in-house DJ belts out an eclectic line-up to match the psychedelic lighting and impressive decor. Indulge in delicious cocktails alternatives, in addition to an array of spirits, which are half the price at happy hour. A hit among locals and expats, the buzz and energy in the room is synonymous to that of the clubs in Ibiza.

Deutsch House

A taste of Germany in Korea! Decorated to resemble a traditional German beer hall, this has been a popular spot since its establishment in 1984. Comfortable chairs and large windows create an appealing ambiance, while historic 300 to 400 year old pictures contribute a touch of class. Although the flavor of the food has been slightly adjusted to suit Korean tastes, the restaurant is also frequented by foreigners. German appetizers, such as Sausage or Pig's feet with Paprika, are popular. Other meat choices include Robenbroi, Bex and Boddam. The less bold can always enjoy Cream Soup or a ham and cheese sandwich.

Juliana

Juliana is one of the most exciting dance clubs in Korea. Apart from the Ancient Egyptian style interior, this club has the biggest stereophonic sound and light system in the country. In addition, there is a dancing competition nightly, and every month a different event is held. Like most nightclubs in Korea, an admission fee must be paid upon entering for a table that seats three or four people. This price includes some beer and side dishes. Customers who enter before 9p get a 50 percent discount and some complimentary snacks. Juliana has a strict dress code; no hats and sneakers allowed.

Magpie Brewing Co.

Opened in 2012, Magpie Brewing Co. is among the pioneer craft breweries in the country. Their flagship brew-pub in Itaewon is a must visit for those who love craft beers. Founded by beer enthusiasts, their creative beers are one of the best that you will find, making you realize their vital role in South Korea's craft beer evolution. Head to their bunker-style basement which is lit by lamps for some of their tap beers and pizzas. Or the Brew Shop which is more snug and offers beer tastings and sometimes brewing classes. This laid back spot besides serving their core beers also has seasonal ones. The Brew Shop hours differs from the basement. Its open daily from 3p to 11p. Live music and beer workshops are held regularly as well.

Vurt

If you are a true fan of EDM, then Vurt might intrigue you. Opened in 2014, its unlike the swanky or flashy clubs you will find in town. Dimly lit, this underground club's minimalist design is kept in mind for clubbers to groove to the enthralling techno beats. Listen to the beats of talented techno artists who will take underground music to the next level.

Southside Parlor

The brainchild of three American expats from Texas, Southside Parlor opened its doors in 2013 and is one of the best places in town for superb cocktails. Tucked away on the fourth floor of a building, this friendly spot though unmarked is a welcoming abode once inside. Antique leather sofas and cartoon posters set the tone of this bar. Board games, arcade games, live music and hookah are for added entertainment. Tipple on artisan cocktails that keeps on rotating. What sets them apart is that they make their own syrups, juices, tonic water and sodas. Even their food menu is innovative and tasty. Check out the vista from their terrace if weather permits.
