Situated amidst a lush green environment, George Preston Recreation Centre is a complete event venue to host any kind of formal and informal events. This recreation center features a main hall with the capacity to accommodate about four hundred people, few meeting rooms, a lounge and a curling club. Apart from this, an ice arena makes for a perfect entertainment venue, while the curling lounge with the capacity to accommodate about one hundred and fifty people is an ideal place to relax and unwind with friends and family.
The Large Zenith Scope located in the Malcolm Knapp Research forest was a large liquid mirror telescope. A property of the University of British Columbia, the Large Zenith Scope is now decommissioned and exists as merely as a tourist attraction. Built-in 2003, it was one of the largest optical telescopes in the world.
