"Historic Bird Sanctuary"
Birdcraft Sanctuary is also known as Connecticut Audubon Society Birdcraft Museum and Sanctuary. It is one of the oldest private songbird sanctuaries in the United States and is home to a large number of resident and migratory birds. It was constructed by Mabel Osgood Wright in 1914. There is also a museum inside the sanctuary which has preserved animals and displays them to the way wildlife existed at the end of 20th Century. It was added to the National Registrar of Historic Places on June 23, 1982.
