A specialty museum dedicated to textiles, clothing, and furnishings, the Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising is spread across five galleries at University Center for the Arts. From period costumes, vintage textiles and intricate accessories, to home furnishings, explore a collection of over twenty thousand historic artifacts here. With nineteenth century clothing from the western world, to traditional dresses of Asian countries like China, India and Japan, the exhibits here are diverse. Another highlight of the museum is a collection of dresses by renowned designers like Arnold Scaasi, Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein and more.
