Pink Shell Beach Resort

The Pink Shell Beach Resort is located on the northern tip of Estero Island, a thin strip of land with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and Matanzas Pass on the other. The seven-story hotel offers all the amenities to make a family vacation enjoyable, including three pools, a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a private beach, a general store and organized activities for kids. All of the rooms are non-smoking (smoking is allowed on the outdoor patio or balcony) and feature kitchens.

Edison Beach House

The Edison Beach House harkens back to a time when the state of Florida ran at a slower pace, when founder Mina Edison could rely on a leisurely Estero Island ease. Every room is perfect for relaxation at this all-suite hotel. Each suite has a kitchenette, laundry facilities and breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico. The 24-suites are available in seven floor plans, but spring breakers beware: the hotel only rents the non-smoking suites to those over the age of 26. Nonetheless, it is one of the best places to stay when visiting Fort Myers Beach.

The Hibiscus House Bed & Breakfast

When this majestic, yet modest house was built in 1923 by lumber baron William Dowling, the genius inventor Thomas Edison spent his winters down the street. Since then it has operated as a private residence and then a couple of stints as an inn until its most recent incarnation as a B&B. The Hibiscus House has a superb location right next to many attractions in the historic downtown River District and everything, from the property to the rooms, is beautifully maintained. Throughout the interior, the house still retains many pieces of furniture and other fixtures from when it was built over a hundred years ago.

Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa

Every aspect of the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa, from the spacious rooms and private fishing pier to the 40,000 square-foot spa & fitness center, is tailored for comfort and luxury. The massive complex features 240-rooms, 70 apart-hotel condominiums and a 107-room inn, plus six pools, 14 whirlpools and a tennis complex that hosted two Davis Cup tournaments. Also on site, guests find restaurants, golf, cruises - the list goes on. The only thing missing is the perfect beach. Of course, the price matches the luxury, and most activities cost extra.

Lovers Key Resort

The Lovers Key Resort is a tall, circular tower located on a small private island between Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Beach. The one- and two-bedroom suites are perfect for large groups or families because the property has fully equipped kitchenettes. The telephones have data ports, and the televisions have high-speed Internet access and pay-per-view movies. For extra-curricular events, there is also a heated outdoor pool, two meeting rooms and other business facilities, however almost everybody comes to this beautiful part of Fort Myers for leisure.

Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers-Colonial Blvd.

Hampton is one of the most recognized hotel brands in the United States, and with the amount of properties around the country, it is no wonder why. This hotel in South Fort Myers is close to many attractions like Sanibel Island, downtown and many Spring Training facilities if you're here in March. The rooms and suites have all of the modern comforts of home like plush linens and flat-screen TVs, however only the suites have a kitchenette. There is an amply sized business center, laundry services and the multi-lingual staff will provide everything else you need.
