The Veranda is considered by most to be one of the best restaurants in Fort Myers. Originally built as two homes in 1902, they were joined by a kitchen and a tropical courtyard and re-opened in 1978 as The Veranda. Dining in the courtyard is relaxing and romantic, surrounded by lush foliage, a waterfall and a goldfish pond. Reservations are highly recommended, and dress is business casual.

The Farmer's Market Restaurant is allegedly the oldest, continuously running restaurant in Lee County, and if you've never had deep-fried chicken gizzard or liver, than the best place to try one is here. You will find nothing "lite" or "lo-cal" at this casual restaurant, in fact, when the meal starts with homemade cornbread, you know instantly you'll need a nap after you leave. The hearty portions of beef stew, catfish or country-fried steak come with two vegetables, like turnip greens, black-eye peas or mac-and-cheese. Moreover, it's first come, first served (be prepared if you come after church on Sundays).
The Oasis Restaurant serves breakfast all day, and one of their more popular items is the Hangover Special, an omelet with sausage, vegetables and melted cheese. There's also a children's menu. The restaurant seats 60, and has a smoking section. Reservations are accepted. Bring cash; no credit cards are accepted.
The Siam Hut Thai Restaurant is an overall enjoyable dining experience. Located in a strip mall in the Coral Pointe Shopping Center, the interior is brightly colored with music playing in the background. The owners and staff are attentive. For an entrée, try Pad Thai, with noodles, bean sprouts, chicken, and shrimp, or Siam Rolls, stuffed with chicken and vegetables. All the food can be ordered mild to hot, and the portions are plentiful.
