Constructed in the year 1883, the Old Pecos County Jail is known as one of the oldest buildings in Fort Stockton. This two-storied building had the offices of jailers, deputies and Sheriffs on the ground floor while the prisoners were housed on the second floor. The jail depicts an important piece of the town's history, and welcomes history buffs for engaging tours of the premises.
