Fortaleza

Fortaleza is a metropolitan city and the capital of the State of Ceará. The city has a rich history dating back to the 1500 s resulting in many forts and churches being built. It was officially declared as the capital of Ceará in 1789. The city played host to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It is home to the Coco River and has amazing beaches making it as a major tourist destination in Brazil.
