Kasa Kaiada

Located in the Fortaleza neighborhood of Fatima right outside of the city center, this family-run establishment provides hearty meals of traditional Cearense classics. One of the most popular is the Balão de Dois, which is a regional name for the ubiquitous rice and beans, but here the locals add cheese, dry meat, and nata (a type of cream). Almost every bar in Fortaleza has some variation of it, and at Kasa Kaiada the kitchen makes a fine version. In addition to local specialties, the cold beer, simple patio tables and football on the television always make for a superb afternoon.
