Estádio Presidente Vargas

Established in 1941, Estádio Presidente Vargas is one of the oldest sporting venues in the city. Known popularly as PV, the stadium has a history of hosting some of the city's biggest football fixtures. The facility was the home stadium for numerous clubs including the Fortaleza Esporte Clube and Ceara Sporting Club at various points in time. The stadium underwent a major renovation beginning 2008 to enhance security and facilities for spectators. While the number of fixtures at PV has dwindled due to the modern Arena Castelao, it remains a popular stadium in the city.
