Akron Zoo

Located in Akron, the Akron Zoo boasts of 700 animals spanning over 90 species! With almost 1 million visitors coming here every year, it is touted to be the most popular tourist attraction in the entire Summit County. The zoo is divided in to six sections that are symbolic of different parts of the globe. Also, there are various exhibits at the zoo like, The Legends of the Wild, The Komodo Kingdom, Jellies Rhythm, Journey to the Reef, Penguin Point and Tiger Valley.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Cuyahoga Valley National Park provides a world of natural wonders to explore just 20 kilometers (13 miles) away from the urban environs of Cleveland. The park's pristine wilderness is centered around the meandering Cuyahoga River. The river bisects the entire reserve in a clean sweep that spans nearly 33,000 acres (13354.62 hectares). This diverse topography shelters a wide range of native wildlife such as red foxes, Canadian geese, Great Blue herons, coyotes and white-tailed deer. Geological features include a system of cascading waterfalls, labyrinthine caves and hiking trails of varying difficulty levels. The Boston Store Visitor Center, the Towpath Trail, and the Ohio & Erie Canal are three of the park's most-frequented attractions.

Beaver Marsh

Nestled in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio, Beaver Marsh is scattered with wetlands. This area is a popular place to explore for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. This marsh is known for its calm and serene surroundings and is a must-visit for wildlife photographers. Visitors can take a walk or cycle along the boardwalk and spot a beaver or two at work. Other animals and migratory birds that can be found here as muskrats, bullfrogs, river otters, minks, turtles, ducks, blue herons and more.

Brandywine Falls

Located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio, Brandywine Falls is a 60-feet (18 meters) high waterfall. Hike along the 1.5-miles (2.4 kilometers) long Brandywine Gorge Loop and revel in the stunning views of the spectacular falls. Along this trail are several small pools that are filled with salamanders during its breeding season. Visitors can also get a closer look of the waterfall and the gorge by taking a walk on the boardwalk. Brandywine Falls features a parking lot that is shared with visitors who want to hike along the nearby Summit Metroparks Bike and Hike Trail.

Boston Mill Visitor Center

Set in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Boston Mill Visitor Center opened its doors in 2019. This facility features a wide range of exhibits and interactive displays that take you through the history and the flora and fauna of this national park. It even has a gift shop that sells a number of items like maps, books and souvenirs. Tourists can visit the observation deck near the visitor center and revel in the stunning views of the valley. Overlooking the Cuyahoga River, there are several trails that can be explored. Some of these include the Buckeye Trail and Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

Blue Hen Falls

Set in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Blue Hen Falls is a 15-feet (4.5 meters) high waterfall. Visitors can hike along the waymarked Buckeye Trail which begins at the Boston Mill Visitor Center and revel in the scenic views of the surrounding forest and the wildflowers. This picturesque waterfall is the perfect place for day-trippers to go picnicking. During the fall season, visitors can also capture the stunning colors of the autumn foliage. Owing to the slippery slopes, it is recommended that visitors wear a good pair of hiking boots.
