Barnett Hall functions as Piha's community center and hosts several local events and activities. From dance and yoga lessons to markets and community meetings, all kinds of events take place at Barnett Hall. The place may also be rented for birthday parties, weddings, rehearsals or music concerts. Run by the Piha Community Centre Society, the hall is within easy reach of Auckland and close to the beach.
One of the most scenic and serene sites in the city, Mincher Garden is the perfect spot to unwind in the company of nature. Take along a picnic and enjoy it on the banks of the pool after a refreshing swim. The adventurous can swim under the falls to emerge behind the sheet of tumbling water. This place is great for a casual hike or a picnic with family and friends and should not be missed.
The Manukau Heads Lighthouse is a historic beacon for ships entering the Manukau Harbor and offers spectacular panoramic views of the Tasman Sea and the Waitakere Ranges. After a jaunt on the lighthouse balcony, head out to the well-maintained grounds for a cozy picnic.The waters beneath the lighthouse provide refuge for Maui's Dolphin and if you're lucky, you may even spot one.
