The Chasewater Railway is a railway system that operates heritage steam and diesel trains on holidays throughout the year. This includes Bank Holiday Mondays, Sundays, most Saturdays Easter to October and certain weekdays though summer. If booked in advance, they even offer you a chance to drive your very own steam engine!

The site itself is a five mile stretch of converted railway track, which nowadays is a haven for wildlife and an unspoiled area of rural beauty and tranquility. The canal junction of Fradley Junction is located near Lichfield in Staffordshire and connects Fradley and Alrewas. The canal is surrounded by many buildings, some designated as sites of English heritage, especially the The Swan public house. It was completed in 1790 and operated on a route of 93 miles (150 kilometers). The surrounding area of Fradley Junction houses many settlements and entertainment centers, with the Swan Inn being the prominent one.

Situated in the picturesque countryside of Brandon, Brandon Marsh is a popular reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust headquarters. The Marsh overlooks the serene blue waters of the river Avon, and encompasses a terrain consisting of woodland, scrubs, gravel pits, reed beds and wetlands. An oasis of tranquil, this area is a vital habitat for birds like ducks, waders, Barn owls and Tawny owls. The site also features a sensory garden, which is said to kindle each of the five senses of human body.

A fun day out for children, especially since the emphasis is on close contact with the animals. Youngsters can hold newly-hatched chicks, take a pony ride and help to feed the animals. All your familiar farmyard friends are here, and some less familiar in the form of rare breeds. There are also demonstrations of traditional crafts associated with the farm, such as wool spinning. The farm is both interesting and educational and parents should enjoy it too.
