Menus rotate on a five-day basis and always include vegetarian options and interesting specials. Sweet and spicey, authentic Cape Malay cuisine is served here. Start with taste bud teasers of miniature egg polla and sweetcorn fritters. Chef Martha Williams makes a winning butternut soup finished with nutmeg; sublime tomato bredie, bobotie and chicken curry. End with melktert, malva pudding or her lemon-scented koeksisters. The 300-strong wine list is very impressive and includes many top Cape wines and good imports.

Leinster Hall is a very stylish restaurant in a Victorian house, complete with beautiful gardens. The large dining room has magnificent ceilings with painted rosettes, a Victorian crystal chandelier, shuttered windows and large fireplaces. With turquoise plates and striking art, your dining experience will be thoroughly refined. Their glorious food includes: chilled crayfish with a curried vegetable essence and saffron; crisp roast duckling with kumquat sauce and crunchy caramelized ginger; and game with pistachio terrine with port and juniper sauce.
