Teleférico de Caracas

Although a flock of tourists go up the Cerro El Avila every day, you may only want to reach its summit, or the coast on the other side of the mountain. In that case, Caracas has two cable car routes to offer you: Maripérez-El Avila and Maripérez-Macuto. The Maripérez-El Avila route has always been the most popular, taking you to El Avila's ice rink, the disco and the luxurious Hotel Humboldt. You'll overlook the Caracas valley on one side and the Caribbean on the other from a height of 2153 meters (7063.64 feet). The cars leave every 15 or 30 minutes, according to the number of passengers.

Children's Museum of Caracas

Children can have a fun day at the Museo de los Niños de Caracas, a place dedicated to enhance a child's intellectual potential. This famed museum is a recreational as well as a learning center, that focuses on an all-round development of kids. At this museum, workshops, activities and a plethora of exhibitions breaks the notion of education being a boring and dull concept. From biology to communications, the intriguing exhibits at the museum cover a wide range of topics.

Parque del Este

Everyone can find something of interest in Parque del Este. Visitors can travel back to the time of Columbus in a replica of Santa María caravel. You can also feel like you're in prehistoric times in the Terrarium, which boasts one of the most complete collections of reptiles and amphibians in Venezuela. Then soar with the multi-colored Venezuelan birds in the Aviary or journey to the future in the Planetarium. Don't forget to enjoy the concerts, admire the fauna that inhabits five of the nine lakes, or have a bite to eat next to Columbus' caravel.

Parque Los Caobos

One of the oldest parks in the city, Los Caobos is a serene expanse famous for its ancient trees. Inaugurated in the year 1920, it was initially named after Venezuelan National Hero Antonio Jose de Sucre. However, the presence of mahogany trees from colonial era earned it the name Los Caobos. This park is an addition to an area where the most important cultural complexes of the city are located, such as the Fine Arts and Science Museums, the National Art Gallery and the Teresa Carreño Cultural Complex. From a sculpture of Venezuelan novelist Teresa de la Parra to dinosaurs, the park houses some of the most exquisite structures including the Fountain Venezuela. A playground replete with slides and swings is perfect for toddlers to frolic around. Despite the boisterousness of the city and its many cultural events, Los Caobos exudes a sense of peace and serenity to all who visit.

Expanzoo

Designed specifically keeping people with cognitive disabilities and special needs in mind, The Expanzoo in Caracas is a petting zoo like no other. Get up close and personal with the zoo's numerous residents, from camels, zebras and deer to ostrich, flamingos, peacocks and alpacas. There are even pony rides on offer for the little ones. Besides this, the facility offers numerous educational and therapeutic programs for children with special needs.

Cinex

Cinex, which has several branches all across throughout Venezuella is a movie theater. This branch, located in the C.C. Multiplaza Victoria mall has mostly Spanish shows. The theater is always open and show timings are flexible enough for anyone to go. The shows range from local blockbusters to Spanish dubbed Hollywood hits. The theater also has 3D facilities and several children's films. So come along with the family, munch on some pop corn and watch the latest flick.
