Unlike the Hong Kong Coliseum and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong's civic centres offer more local performances. The Sheung Wan Civic Centre is one of the major local venues, hosting performances for local arts groups, in particular traditional Chinese performances such as Cantonese opera and concerts. Although you may not understand Cantonese, it is fascinating to hear, and worth going to see for all the beautifully intricate costumes.
As suggested by the name, Concert Hall- Hong Kong Cultural Centre is one of the best venues for musical concerts in the city. The hall is circular in shape with the stage at the center and two tiers of seats surrounding it. The first tier is on the same level as the stage and the second hanging over the stage on all sides in the form of balconies. The glossy oak of the hall and the velvet emerald seats create an opulent ambiance while the brilliant and adjustable acoustics amplify the effect of the singers and instruments. The hall also has an amazing Austrian pipe organ which has as many as 8000 pipes and is one of the largest of its kind in the world.

The Coliseum offers a complete range of facilities for sports, cultural performances and popular entertainment programs. To host a concert here is the dream of all singers in Hong Kong!
