Dschungel Vienna

Dschungel Wien is a huge theater that was built with an aim to promote young talent. Hence, this grandiose venue hosts dramas, comedies, plays, puppet shows and live musicals in its premises. Besides local artists, international theater personalities can also be seen performing at this popular venue. The theater houses within itself two smaller venues that have a seating capacity of 180 and 80 respectively. Museum of Modern Art

The museum collection, comprised of contemporary art, encompasses different trends in art such as realism, surrealism, pop art, object art and much more. Part of the Museum of Modern Art is the so called 20er Haus, which served as the Austrian pavilion at the Brussels World's Fair of 1958. Conceptual Art, minimal Art, Arte Povera or special exhibitions dealing with contemporary art are featured in this building. There are multiple exhibitions going on at any given time to please many art lovers. A cafe and a gift shop are also on the premises for those looking for a snack or souvenir.

Kabarett Niedermair

The decor is quite unpretentious, but nevertheless conducive to a pleasant theatergoing experience. The comedians are usually excellent and already quite popular in Austria. These artists have often already appeared in cinema or TV productions. New talents are welcome, too, but only after the boss in person has seen them on stage and is convinced that their performance skills are of high quality. After the show, have a walk to Florianigasse, where you will find lots of nice restaurants and bars.

Haus des Meeres

First established in the year 1957, Haus des Meeres is a large aquarium in the heart of the bustling 7th district of Vienna. A towering structure dating back to World War II houses more than 10,000 marine creatures. Counted as one of the biggest aquariums of Austria, it is home to some saltwater and and freshwater species. Visitors can also find fish found in the Mediterranean seas as well as beautiful sharks. A key highlight is a lofty tank of 150,000 liters (39625.80 gallons), which is occupied by hammerhead sharks. An artificial cave inside the aquarium allows guests to explore an array of nocturnal insects. From the aquarium cafe on the 11th floor, one gets some spectacular vistas of the beautiful city.

Madame Tussauds Wien

This wax museum is a popular tourist attraction in Vienna and is known to house life-size wax statues of several famous personalities. Wurstelprater

Célèbre pour sa gigantesque grande roue et son parc d’attractions, le Wurstelprater, une longue étendue de bois et de champs située entre le Danube et ses affluents, servait à l’origine de terrain de chasse impérial. Le parc a ouvert au public en 1766 et son imposante grande roue de 67 mètres de haut fut érigée en 1896. Cette construction était utilisée en tant que tour d’observation pendant la Première guerre mondiale et fut gravement endommagée pendant la Seconde guerre mondiale. La grande roue du Wurstelprater est immortalisée dans le film Le Troisième Homme d’Orson Welles. De nos jours, ce parc d’attractions regorge de manèges modernes allant d’autos-tamponneuses à des trains fantômes, bien que certains des éléments plus pittoresques ont été conservés. Pour vous échapper de la partie bruyante du Prater, marchez le long du tranquille Hauptallee à travers les prés vallonnés jusqu’à Lusthaus, un restaurant servant des plats autrichiens authentiques.

Figurentheater Lilarum

Take a break from your hectic work life and enjoy some quality time with your little ones as you visit the Figurentheater Lilarum. Established in 1980, this theater had an humble start and could accommodate only 30 spectators at a time. However, in 1997, this theater was moved to a new property and can now accommodate around 120 spectators. The theater is strategically designed for puppet performances and is a popular entertainment venue for children of all ages. Technical Museum

The decision to construct this museum was made in 1908 in order to celebrate Emperor Franz Joseph's 60th anniversary of his ascension to the throne. Half a day at least should be taken to do an expedition through the museum, which comprises a great variety of collections. Among them are manufactured products, models, musical instruments, an Innovation Forum, Images of Technology, the legendary Mercedes Silver Arrow, winner of the English Tourist Trophy in 1955 and other interesting artefacts.

Château de Schönbrunn

Il faut se réserver une journée entière pour visiter le parc et château de Schönbrunn, le choix d'activités y étant extensif: vous pouvez vous promenez dans le beau parc royale, visiter le serre à palmiers qui est le plus grand d'Europe, ou aller dans le zoo le plus vieux du monde. Le château lui-même a été construit entre 1696 et 1713 et est devenu une résidence favorite pendant le règne de Maria Theresia (1740-1780). Café in der Gloriette, le point le plus haut du parc, propose une vue sensationnelle du château et de la ville.

Zoo de Schönbrunn

En 1752, Francis Stephen Lothringen, mari de l’impératrice Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche, fonda le zoo de Vienne (le plus ancien de la planète) à Schönbrunn. Certains des bâtiments de style baroque sont encore utilisés et de nouveaux enclos ont récemment été ajoutés, notamment des cages pour les tigres, les jaguars et les éléphants). La ménagerie servait autrefois de lieu de divertissement et d’éducation pour la cour. De nos jours, l’une des nombreuses raisons de la popularité du zoo de Schönbrunn est le fait que c’est l’un des rares établissements au monde à abriter des pandas géants. Le pavillon du petit-déjeuner impérial, dans son centre historique, constitue le point de départ des promenades. Ce zoo est l’endroit idéal pour se divertir en famille, en particulier le week-end, lorsqu’il est très fréquenté.
