The Panio Bar is located upon Napier Street in the De Waterkant neighborhood of Cape Town. The bar draws inspiration from the musical streets of New York City. The eatery menu is a sharp contrast to the American inspiration, finding root in strong South African flavors. Like most other places in the city, the bar has its own unique view of the village and mountains that surround it. The live musicians bring in a rush of crowds making it advisable to pre-book a table.
The Tudor Café, adjacent to the Tudor Hotel, is a very small bar, café and restaurant, tucked away in Longmarket Street and overlooked by most passers-by. However, it is one of those little bars/cafes that emits a hometown feel and a warm, welcome atmosphere. The cafe serves humble meals during the day, as it caters to the hotel, but also serves good coffee and has great deals during its two-hour happy hour. It is central and a great place to hang out with a few friends after a day venturing around the city. -Annchen Marais
