With its shining facade, The Citadel Theatre is one of the most noticeable structures in the heart of downtown Edmonton. The Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta, is a largely improvisational theater company that was first set up in 1981. Over the tears, the theater has shifted its center from place to place, before starting a campaign to set up their own theater building. The theater company has been a part of several shows over the years, such as 'The Critic', 'Fairytales Scratched' as well as their own weekly shows, Theatresports and Chimprov. With various awards, international tours and noteworthy alumni, the theater is certainly one of the best in the province.
Opened in 1955 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Alberta, Jubilee Auditorium continues to host top-quality stars, events, and royalty. It is located next to the University of Alberta, just across the river from downtown Edmonton. It is hard to miss since it is located on a five-hectare (13 acres) site and includes 4,000,000 square feet (200,000 square meters) of entertainment, reception, and conference space. There is parking for 1000 cars, and from the upper lobby, there is a fine view of the city.
Taking inspiration from the original Capitol Theater which was built in 1920s, this theater was constructed in 2011 in the Fort Edmonton Park. The elegant theater can accommodate more than 240 spectators and has an inclined seat arrangement to give you the fine views of the screen. The Capitol Theatre regularly screens period cinemas and is a great venue for all the cinema buffs.
