The Covent Garden Cocktail Club is a classy venue that serves premium cocktails that are all the rage in town. Located in the prime area of Covent Garden, this venue enjoys a full house on most days of the week. There are live music performances that are held here regularly. Deep reds and browns dominate the dimly-lit interior, which boasts of plush (there it is again!) sofas and candle-lit coffee tables. The fully-stocked bar is impressive, and the expertly mixed cocktails live up to the bar's name. On the food front, the bar serves up tons of pub grub that will leave you so satisfied, you could easily do without dinner. You can arrange for private gatherings at the Dirty Martini too, and it is open conveniently late. As for the location, it doesn't get any better than Covent Garden.
Step through the door and be transported to an American dive bar. From the bare brick walls, tatty diner-style booths and 1950s-style leather stools to the 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign, wild boar's heads and rock and roll posters plastering the walls, details help create a certain laid-back atmosphere. Rock, blues and underground music blasts out of the old-school jukebox, and the drinking focus is on hard liquor. There’s an extensive booze selection, with an emphasis on independently produced bourbon, whiskey and rum. Draft and bottled beers are also available, along with classic cocktails makes a great contrast to Upper Street's many swanky bars.
The Azteca Latin Lounge is a modern ubercool lounge with a Mexican touch. The ambience is entirely Latin, with Latin music, Mexican food, martinis and salsa. There are regular live events hosted here, and renowned DJs play Jazz to rev up the night. The interior is lively with splashes of color all over the place. Guacamole, nachos, tacos and enchilada are regulars on the menu and their flavor is reminiscent of Latin spices. Mexican beer and brilliant cocktails provide the necessary kick for a fun Saturday night. Bongo drums and trumpets are available for playing, and one can work up quite a rhythm with them. There are singles nights too held occasionally. Enjoy pocket-friendly happy hours from 5p to 7p everyday.
The Bar Story is a cozy bar that is conveniently situated underneath the Peckham station. The interior has walls of brick with benches made out of railway sleepers. It has a patio with lots of greenery- ideal to bask in the sun. On the menu are brilliant cocktails, mojitos, beer and Italian pastas and pizzas to whet the appetite. The DJs play loud music to charge up the crowds while WI-Fi access is also provided for catching up on serious work. There is a daily happy-hours from 6p to 7p. Students can be seen here grabbing drinks and relaxing. The Bar Story is a quirky amalgamation of all kinds of people who gather here to have a great time.
